The fulfillment of the Sustainable Development Goals, City Express Hotels signed an agreement with the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) in which it is committed to providing temporary and free accommodation to women, adolescents, girls and boys who have suffered some type of domestic violence in Mexico. This agreement was carried out within the framework of the Spotlight initiative, financed by the European Union and operated by the United Nations (UN), to eliminate all forms of violence against women and girls, a problem that has increased during the Covid-19 pandemic. As a result of this situation, a response plan was created in order to integrate prevention efforts and provision of services that respond to violence.
In this sense, UNICEF and the United Nations Population Fund, in coordination with City Express Hotels, the National Commission to Prevent and Eradicate Violence against Women, the National Women's Institute, the National Institute of Social Development, the Justice Centers for Women and Women's Instances in the Federal Entities, developed a Chinese Australia Phone Number List protocol to provide free accommodation and food to affected people, in seven hotels of the chain located in four cities of the country, while government authorities will identify a shelter or support network with safe conditions for victims. At City Express Hotels we believe that, as guests of this world, we have the responsibility of providing social well-being in the various communities where we operate.
We will do everything necessary to give maximum support to the victims, whom we received from the first moment with the warmth that characterizes us and the secrecy that the situation deserves. " Sandra Ávalos, Director of Human Capital and member of the Sustainability Committee of City Express Hotels To guarantee timely attention to each person, the hotel staff has received training and awareness on the rights of women, adolescents, girls and boys, as well as a gender approach and gender-based violence. The agreement began last July 1 and will be valid until December 31, 2021, and considers 35 room nights per month for each of the participating properties. Spotlight's efforts to eliminate all forms of violence against women and girls invest in gender equality and the empowerment of women, one of the Sustainable Development.
